Chione joined the pack in December 2021 from a kennel environment. The first six months were focused solely on building a relationship, and once Chione relaxed and became more confident with me, we started training techniques and tracking. We had only a couple of weeks to prepare for the BH test, but Chione, being a quick learner, picked up everything needed. Training with Chione is easy because her aim is always to do things correctly, and a simple "NO" is enough to eliminate any behavior we don't want. Chione is a bit unfair in that sense—she learns extremely quickly, always strives to do her best, and is motivated by treats, toys, and social rewards.
Chione participates in tracking, obedience, and protection work. There are also plans to try search and rescue once we reach high enough level in other sports. She has served multiple times as a non-participating dog in BH tests and trains diligently on a weekly basis. Chione is an incredibly easy and affectionate dog at home, making it possible to go anywhere and try any activity with her happily.
Chione's strengths include a willingness to collaborate, quick learning, good drive transitions, and easy motivation. On the downside, she has a bit of excessive handler sensitivity, requiring careful consideration of what to correct in training. Structurally, Chione is slightly heavier than the other dogs in the pack but is still easily capable of handling IPO obstacles.
